La Tasca De Los Vinos – Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
As I mentioned we have been to a couple of good restaurants during our recent trip to Gran Canaria, Spain, but I have to highlight this one. Hidden in the small Calle El Cid in Las Palmas, the restaurant La Tasca de los Vinos is a true gem of Uruguayan cuisine. Meats from Uruguay, small bites of all types of food and most of all vine, with an exceptionally friendly and customer centric team, do not miss out on it when you are in Las Palmas 🙂
We’ve been to the restaurant on one of their bite-days (“día de los pinchos”), where you’ll find several cold plates set on the bar that you can cosume to your pleasure, while the hot plates are carried around fresh out of the kitchen. When you are full, you’ll pay according to the quantity and type of toothpicks (“pinchos”) that came with your bites that you consumed:
This BBQ chicken was my personal favorite!
And now I really must be off for lunch!!
I love grazing & much prefer tasting little bites of a lot of things than sitting to one larger meal. Of course the problem with doing that at home is the work it takes to put everything together. So to find a place that does this would be my idea of perfection. I love how they figure how you pay – the idea of just counting and calculating by the picks is wonderful & you don’t end up buying something only to find out that you’re too full to eat it. What a concept!
Exactly, isn’t it great? As far as I know the idea comes from the Basque Country. I’m yet to find a good tapas/pinchos restaurant here in Hungary 🙂
We have just a few around here but I love tapas places. Haven’t been in a while though.
Then let us all go have some tapas!! 😀
Wow, looks amazing…wish I were there to try! Spain is totally on my to-do list. 🙂
B-)
Wow, not only am I hungry right now but I love pintxos! This place looks very lovely 🙂
