Vibrant Green Spinach Smoothie

I have seen numerous posts about the infamous spinach ‘monster’ smoothies that I thought it is time I tried it. It took me quite some time trying to get convinced – only by reading about it – that it actually doesn’t taste spinach. Well, you know – spinach here is a very disputed veggie, as I’m certain most Hungarians would directly associate it with the creamy spinach puree (spenótfőzelék) that was (maybe still is?) a usual participant in the school canteens. Now, as the usual kid is not a big fan of veggies, most of all in a scary green puree form, it certainly left memories better not touched.

By the way, if you are interested in the Hungarian school canteen, here and here you can find out more about it 🙂

So I actually got around buying a quite big pack (that was the only one available) of baby spinach, that eventually ended up in not one but 4 smoothies! I have to admit, for me, immediate success (definitely NO spinach taste), for the boyfriend a little less enthusiasm (“so if it doesn’t alter the taste, why do you add it?”) – I couldn’t convince him how good is that for us 🙂 Anyway, as it was a milestone in my foodie life, it deserves to be posted with a couple of pretty pictures, because admit it: it really has a nice color!

Ah of course, it is not only spinach 🙂
