Pepper and Sausage Tagliatelle
This, my Dear Readers, is what should have grown in my balcony garden!
Remember these beautiful green plants?
While in my “garden” they refuse to grow taller, the ones I gave to my mother have produced amazing green bell peppers already. Well, she has a real garden 🙂 Technically, I still consider them ‘my’ home-grown success 😉 She gave us the first fully ripe pepper – deliciously crunchy and flavourful – and this is what we used it for:
Pepper and Sausage Tagliatelle
Ingredients:
1 bell pepper (I used green, it has quite a strong flavour, replace with yellow/orange/red if you like), cut into slices
2 Debrecener style sausages, cut into bite sized chunks
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
pasta (I used tagliatelle that we picked up on our way home from Italy!)
olive oil
Preparation:
1. On a little olive oil, fry the onions, garlic, pepper and sausage chunks. Let it cook covered until the sausage cubes are fully cooked and the pepper starts to soften. Add a few tbsp of tomato sauce, mix it well and cook for a few more minutes.
2. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the packaging (tagliatelle ricce was our choice this time) and mix it with the sausage-pepper sauce.
To serve, I sprinkled some bread crumbs on top:
It was delicious I have to say!
Enjoy 😉
I can smell it already — Mmmm 🙂
Oh it did have an amazing smell!!
