Squid Rings in Onion Sauce ~ Calamares en Salsa de Cebolla

As I mentioned before, it is not easy to come by good seafood around here. So in that precious moment you shed your eyes on any nice looking salmon, shrimps or squids for example, you simply cannot permit yourself to leave it there on the ice.  Am I right? Well this is the short story of the half kg squid rings (or calamares) that we used to make this dish. We got the recipe from my Mr’s mum, and although I have never seen this dish prepared before, my Mr secured me that this is how it has to taste and look like! Well, I have to say I found it delicious indeed 😉

Calamares en Salsa de Cebolla

Ingredients:

1/2 kg squid rings
2 onions, cubed
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt, pepper, paprika, olive oil

boiled potatoes for serving.

Preparation:

1. Pour 2-3 tbsps of olive oil in a frying pan and add the onions. Let it simmer for a while before adding the squids, garlic and spices.
2. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the squids are tender.
3. Serve with boiled potatoes.

Easy and delicious! EnJoY.
