Beef Stew in Pressure Cooker

Comfort food recipe today : ) Beef stew with veggies in pressure cooker (don’t worry if you don’t have any, just adjust the cooking time accordingly). I must say I am a big fan of a nice tender beef stew which is not always easy to get right.

Ingredients:

tender beef, cubed
carrots, sliced into chunks
potatoes, cubed
paprika, chopped
onion, chopped
salt, pepper, paprika powder, bay leaves

Preparation:

1. In the pressure cooker fry the onions on a little olive oil, add the beef cubes and brown on all sides
2. Add the vegetables, spices and bay leaves, add some water, mix, and seal the lid.
3. Let it cook! I left it for 2 hours to make sure the beef is super tender.

Enjoy with some fresh bread and if you have any leftover liquid, save it/freeze for beef stock. It will be good for something else 🙂

  1. Karen says:

A pressure cooker not only makes the meal fast but also creates such tender meat.

  2. Nice one! Next time add a couple of ounces of dark chocolate the last five minutes of cooking. You’ll be surprise.

  3. Nice recipe!
I make a very similar dish (almost every week). We call it Ragout. The same ingredients, minus chopped paprika, onion or paprika powder and plus white wine; try it sometime is really good.
    Have a nice day 🙂
