Foodie Report: Spain – Part 2

How better spend the last night in Spain than going to a real local tapas restaurant? That is exactly what we did. Recipe for success: look for Spanish cooks in the kitchen, people queuing to get a table, noise and fried food smell. All check? You are at the right place! Grab a group of friends and dare to experiment with the dishes!
We ordered my favourite tapas: calamares fritos or beer-batter squids (NOT that frozen thing they sell at the supermarket!)
Papas Bravas, with aioli:
Boquerones fritos (fried anchovies):
Mixed grilled and fried seafood:
…with a seafood-spear:
…yes you read that right, a seafood spear!:
And if this is not enough, there was even a meat – variation of this dish. I thought I’ll be on a diet forever after this!
We travelled back home the day after this divine dinner and luckily had some leftovers – we have prepared some amazing sandwiches placing the remaining fried squids in a freshly baked baguette, sprinkled with a little lemon juice…. WOW! Even cold, it was delicious!

[...] freshly made and bought at the port, they made a really good impression on me. Until now only the Barcelona version came up to a similar level of deliciousness. Behold – we managed to reproduce them at home! [...]

Now that looks delicious. We found a local tapas restaurant & I just love going to graze all night long. I can only imagine how wonderful it must be to have it in Spain.
Well we have to admit, Spanish know how to eat!
